Indian medical visa document checklist, from Bangladesh

Answer three questions and you get the document list that the Indian government and IVAC publish for that exact situation, with the address every line came from and the day we read it. A line in quotation marks is the source’s own wording; the rest are our one-sentence summaries of what the source named under them says.

You also get the places where the official sources contradict each other — shown as a contradiction, with every side quoted, rather than quietly resolved into one confident answer. They are about money, about which utility bill proves where you live, about how many people may travel with a patient, and about how long an e-Medical Visa lasts.

This is not visa advice and it is not a prediction. It is a report of what named government documents say, with dates. It does not tell anybody what to do, and nothing here means an application will be accepted — the counter decides on the day, and Infirmy has no part in that. We are not a visa agent and we do not sell visas or appointments.

Your answer to question 1 does not change this list, and we are telling you rather than hiding it. On the paper route the High Commission’s document covers the patient and the medical attendant in one section, and IVAC publishes a single medical-visa list. Neither source publishes a separate document list for an attendant, so we do not have one to show you.

On this route the official sources disagree with each other in 6 places. That is not a mistake in this page and it is not something you did. Both documents are official, neither says it replaces the other, and we are not going to pick one for you. All of them are set out below the list, with every side quoted in full.

These two sentences are about two different routes, so no arithmetic reconciles them. One names Bangladesh and not the route; the other names the route and not a nationality.

  • How long does an e-Medical Visa last?

    Bureau of Immigration, Ministry of Home Affairs, India: “e visa for M-1 Visa (e-M1 V) will be granted for a period up to 60 days from the date of first entry into India with triple entry” — read 13 September 2026

    Counting votes does not settle this: the three passages may not be measuring the same thing. The Bureau of Immigration separates a visa's validity from the stay it stipulates, but all three passages here use the word validity.

What nobody publishes

  • We do not know which document list the IVAC counter actually applies on the day. Neither says it replaces the other. Neither says which one the officer at the desk is using.
  • We cannot tell when the IVAC document page was last edited. Its visible byline says 16 January 2017. The server sends no last-modified information, so the byline is all anyone has.
  • Processing time, visa validity, number of entries and permitted length of stay are not published on either source.
  • The document does not say which country’s Law Ministry or which country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Pages for the medical visa cover sub-categories M1 (patient) and M2 (medical attendant)
  • Whether the e-Medical / e-Medical Attendant route is actually usable by a Bangladeshi patient who plans to enter India by land, rather than by air.
  • Processing time for either route. Not published on the pages we read.
  • No government page we have read says which of these governs a Bangladeshi patient using the online route.

Nothing on this page was written for it. Every line is lifted from two of our own guides, where a human read each government page and recorded the date. If you want the reasoning rather than the list, read those:

The honest next step, which is a small one

Infirmy is a marketplace where hospitals and medical facilitators are meant to answer a patient’s case. Today it has no hospitals listed, and nobody is currently reviewing the cases people post. We would rather say that than let you find out afterwards.

So there is no next step on this page that gets anybody a visa or a hospital. If you want to write down what treatment you are looking for anyway, the case form stores it and tells you what it does with it first. Nothing you answered above is carried into it — this tool has kept none of it.
